Improve literacy,
address unmet needs,
cascade change

Our mission

Our mission is to provide culturally appropriate supportive services that meet West African refugee and immigrant families’ needs and to promote early literacy and access to resources to enable all family members to thrive in their homes and communities. LFC uses a two-generation approach to create impact for community families, by providing services to parents, youth, and children.

Legacy Family Center (LFC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving West African refugee and immigrant families in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. LFC hopes to formalize our current role as a connector to services such as early education for young children, youth mentoring/leadership opportunities, community resources and to minimize barriers to self-sufficiency.  LFC believes strongly in partnerships and community collaborations.
